Four Day Residential Retreat at the Heartland Country Inn in Brenham, TX

Finding the Sacred in Each Moment by Letting Go

Thursday October 16 5pm – Sunday October 19 1pm

In this retreat, with the cultivation of mindfulness as a base, we will practice to strengthen our capacity to choose the course of each day in freedom and goodness. We will practice mindfulness of breathing, sitting, walking, talking, listening, and eating.  We will learn to look at the world around us with peaceful clear eyes, and to turn our attention inward to the true source of our unrest – the seeds of suffering in our own heart. We will learn to take care of these seeds, to grow what is wholesome, and develop the capacity to transform our experience of the unwholesome.

The teachings we will be exploring as a base for the retreat are teachings on the transformation of suffering associated with grasping and attachment. We will look deeply into four areas: attachment to sense pleasures, grasping onto ideas and views, attachment to rituals and norms, and grasping to the idea of a separate self.
