4 Day Retreat in Montana

April 30, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - May 3, 2015 @ 5:00 pm

From Aspiration to Realization: True Understanding and Compassionate Action on the Path of Awakening

Many of us have a lot of good will, high ideals and deep aspirations to live a life of meaning and purpose; to contribute to the well being of the world around us. Yet we find ourselves in a mad rush to keep up with modern society and stressed out wondering when we’ll get the time to do what we really want to do.
This retreat is an invitation to take that time, to recharge and realize the fullness of our insight and love, to make the jump from conceptual knowledge to embodied experience.
The natural result of the Path of Mindfulness is an experience of kindness and compassion (love). When we come home to our selves, we come home to the world. We become deeply aware of our interbeing nature – how our happiness and suffering are deeply interwoven with the happiness and suffering around us.
Our cultivation of presence generates our understanding, and our understanding is the basis for our actions. In Buddhism this is known as the practice of the Eight Fold Path.
During the retreat we will take a close look at this practice and how it has given rise to the Five Mindfulness Trainings, a present day expression of what it might look like to truly live into our deepest aspirations, and actually walk a path of Compassionate Action.
It is a practice that builds our capacity to affect wholesome transformation on all levels, from the suffering of strong emotions and habit energy, to relationships, lifestyle and climate change
